My first time sign up in DEAL (just to share the experience)

I was always very skeptical about DEAL or the similar..

Well, without trying I won’t really know how it will be like ..

 I sign up DEAL as it was in my mailbox and have got sharing from friends that it is not a hoax nor scam. Just coincidentally  I was planning to have family outing for a good meal,

My first time purchase via DEAL when I saw this promotion from Shiu Yakiniku which sound unique and seems nice. So purchased @SGD23.30NETT per pax from the original SGD46.60 as stated in the DEAL which gave me a feel that I got a good bargain! 

My next immediate move was to quickly make reservation before I forget about this whole thing which I may, due to my forgetful nature..

And when we were there at the entrance of Shiu Yakiniku, we realised that they are marketing and display a banner with the promotional price of SGD24.90++ for  walk in guests. The first impression was not that good. Reason being I thought the it was suppose to be SGD46.60  for those who didn’t purchase via DEAL.

Hmm.. may be it’s different menu for that promotion price tag as compared to ours. Moreover, I have never patron this restaurant before I can’t really know what is the menu list with that promotion offer to walk in guests..

May be those who did experience as a walk in guest, do share with us the menu and experience with us here ; )

One thing I am convince is base on market rate for the price tag we paid for it’s fairly worth of the menu we were given if we are a great eater by volume. Which I think it is fair deal.

My second time purchase via DEAL

My second attempt purchase via DEAL is when I come across this good deal for travelling to KL from Singapore by Luxury Coach, provided by Luxury Tours & Travel.

I found this worth as I have ever taken this coach before last year and find it not bad and it cost me about SGD30+ and then I saw this offering SGD17 from DEAL !! Sound a good deal to me ! So I purchased few such tickets for my family, planning to travel to KL in Aug. The only unfavorable condition are one can only travel from Saturdays to Thursdays .. which I usually prefer Friday. And the departure time from Singapore only available for us to chose between 3.30pm or 7pm which means we can only arrived KL earliest by 10pm if we depart at 3.30pm.

Have yet to activate this, thus will share with you after my experience in Aug 2011 when I board the coach then ;  )

And I have yet to progress to purchase those long distance Oversea Travel , as the price tag for that is bigger..that means the risk will be higher too. Just concern that what will happen if I couldn’t get the date range we want to travel and it is just too rush to plan as DEAL always required one to confirm asap as the promotion window time frame is short. What happen if the expiry date is due?

Chinese Wedding Dinner in Klang

In Klang Chinese culture the night before the Wedding commence, there is this night celebration event with family, relatives and friends at the Groom’s house. The celebration is to have sumptuous dinner together.  For such in the Western Culture it’s Bachelor Night. In this case of my relative, they cater for Nonya Buffet starting from 7pm till midnight to feast and drink. The house is new. There are 2 units owned by them but one of them is used as storage purpose only while the other one is for accommodation. These two units are just separated by a small road.

Next day come the wedding dinner..

Restaurant Details

The restaurant looks new, the decoration is nicer and more grand than the rest of other Chinese Restaurant that I have attended. There is a common saying for good food go for the restaurant but do not expect good ambiance and setting. There is nothing about ‘grand’ and ‘pose’ in any of the Chinese Restaurant setting. And if you want   ‘grand’ and ‘pose’  environment then opt for Hotel. In this case, this venue has the mix but still not to the high class hotel standard yet.

Mover or Delivery Service..What is the market rate?

Not quite happy for the recent experience with this Mover/Delivery Service. Has shown him the dimension, photo and informed about 2 cabinets  (have already dismantled and packed properly)  to move from one place to another place with full addresses. At first he sound very experience and familiar with the places, sharing that he cannot do it over weekends as the private condo officer will not be around therefore, no movers can enter.. He quoted range of SGD70 to SGD100 inclusive of installation subject to how complicate is the installation. So I leave it to this mover to do the service while I am at work, for my family member will be in the new house waiting to receive the furniture. First he was late by an hour in picking up the items, then he complained so much about the car park does not allow 3m height vehicle to enter. For such it means extra distance in carrying things to his vehicle ie extra work. To me, if he is so experience as he sounded, he should have know about the height limit of the vehicle entry and not complaining to me at that last minute where I couldn’t do anything either.  Then he  complained about the lift saying the items can’t fit in.. however, in the end the lift are able to accommodate all the items!!  I wonder how truthful this person is.. and how real is that he is really driving a 3m height vehicle and the furnitures can’t go into the lift!! The most unhappy act he did was asking for SGD70 from my family and set off without installing my cabinets stating that they need to rush off as it was late then and setting it up required at least an hour or more..

When I back home ..I just find this unprofessional!!

Hmm…just wonder what is the market rate to move 2 units of cabinets and have them installed? Anyway he quote the price when I shared with him the details.. we didn’t force him to take up the job..so why he behave so unprofessionally? If he shared he needs to increase the price then name the price.. but he didn’t..
